Black Handbags – How to Make Sure You Are Buying a Real One

Nothing is more elegant than black handbags, which is one reason why there are so many fake ones on the market today. From small and sassy black leather handbags to even laptop bags, with just some simple browsing you will inevitably run into the occasional fake bag. So how can you avoid such a bag? Well, if you are trying to purchase authentic black patent leather handbags then you have come to the right place.

The first step is to realize what you are purchasing and where. The best rule of thumb? If it looks to good to be true, then it is, period. Sadly, this is especially true when it comes to any luxury items. So many knock off purses and handbags are being made in China these days that all it takes to find a supplier of such items is to do a quick search on Alibaba.com.

Of course, because it is so easy, there are literally thousands of local retailers who have set up their shops trying to pass of fake handbags for real ones. So first you need to find out where you are purchasing the bag. Obviously, if you are at Nordstrom’s or Macy’s then you don’t have to worry about being sold fake large black handbags. But, if you are looking online, then you need to be careful. Here are some tips you should follow:

  1. Ask the seller where their handbags come from. This is especially important if they are selling the latest and greatest black tote handbags at prices that are just unbelievably cheap (like selling a black Versace or Gucci handbag for $40).
  2. Ask if they have proof that the bags came directly from the manufacturer. Most fake retailers will try to pass of some story about them purchasing the ‘oversupply’ or the ‘customer returns’ from Neiman’s or Macy’s. Don’t believe them – Neiman’s and Macy’s have legitimate distribution channels to sell that product, and it’s not some Nancy Joe on the internet
  3. Inspect the black handbags very carefully before purchasing. Look for things like cheap zippers, thin leather, or less than perfect treading/stitching on the bags. Obviously the real maker can make errors, but if you find those errors consistently through the store’s inventory, then you most likely have a problem.

Another thing to remember is that high end handbag manufacturers do not want their products sold at such discounted prices, with a few exceptions. So, if you’re looking for a great black handbag at a great price, then you should check out some of these places – places such as Ross, TJ Max, and Marshalls will carry such items occasionally. Or, you can also try to find a retailer who sells used black handbags online or in a retail store. You still get the same quality, but save dramatically on the price.
